The Captions tab on any project shows the caption track, derived automatically from your dialogue with timing taken from the timeline.
Edit any cue — text, in point, out point — and it becomes an override that survives re-rendering. A pipeline that quietly discarded your corrections would teach you to stop making them.
Two guard rails:
- Two lines maximum per cue. A third overruns the caption safe zone on vertical formats, where it lands under the platform's own UI.
- Reading-rate warning. A cue on screen for less time than it takes to read at 180 words per minute is flagged when you save it. It still saves — you may have a reason — but you are told.
Revert any edit to fall back to the derived text. Export produces standard SRT with your edits included.
