On the Review tab, set the script's mode. It decides what a script review checks and what the fixer does.
- Adaptation — reshape the source freely. Reviewed for structure: runtime against target, walls of action with no dialogue, empty scenes. Repairs split over-long scenes and mark empty ones.
- Literal — stay as close to the manuscript as a script can. Reviewed for fidelity: which dialogue lines appear in the source and which were invented, with a percentage. The repair replaces invented lines with the nearest quoted speech from the source where one exists.
- Storyboard first — the shot list leads. Reviewed for boardability: every scene needs a
[[camera:]]note, must run under ninety seconds, and must have action to draw. Repairs insert camera notes implied by the action, split long scenes at paragraph breaks, and add staging lines.
Literal mode needs an ingested manuscript (Adapt tab). Repairs always land as a new script version.
