### Why storage is not priced in credits
Credits buy the compute that makes a file. Storage is what it costs to keep one, and it
accrues whether or not you generate anything this month.
Folding storage into the credit balance would mean an idle library quietly eating next month's
generations, with nothing on screen to explain why the number went down while you were away. So it is
a separate axis with its own ceiling.
### What happens at the ceiling
New generations are refused. Nothing is deleted, and nothing already stored becomes inaccessible.
Deleting your work to make room for more of your work is not a quota, it is data loss with a progress
bar. Anyone over quota can fix it themselves from a screen that shows exactly which projects are
large.
The check happens when a generation is queued, not when the bytes land. By then it has already
run and been paid for, and the only options left are to store it over quota or throw away work you
were charged for.
A generation already in flight is allowed to finish. Killing a render at 90% to enforce a byte count
wastes the credits already spent on it.
### Text does not count against it
An LLM call returns text into a column and does not move the needle, so it is never refused because a
video library is full.
