Start a thread and pick a kind — Question, Discussion, Showcase, Bug or Idea. The kind changes how it is treated: questions can be marked answered, bugs are triaged.
Mark an answer. If a reply solves your question, mark it. The thread flips to answered and the accepted reply is pinned to the top. This is the single most useful thing you can do for the next person with your problem.
Vote on threads and replies. One vote each, enforced at the database level.
Subscribe to a thread to be notified of replies. You are subscribed automatically to threads you start or reply to.
The help bot can also answer directly in a thread, clearly labelled as bot-authored — you can always tell whether a human or the assistant wrote a reply.
