Using a Patreon pledge as your plan

Link Patreon and an existing pledge grants a plan here. Verified on sign-in, expires if stale.

Open it →

Settings → Billing → Patreon.

A lot of people this is built for already run a Patreon. Asking them to hold a second subscription,

on a second card, to the same person, for the same money, is friction with no upside.

### What a pledge grants

Mapped on amount, not on the campaign's tier names:

  • $25/month → Creator
  • $80/month → Pro
  • $300/month → Studio

Tier names are free text a creator renames whenever they like, and a mapping built on them breaks

silently the first time "Gold" becomes "Gold ✨".

### Verification expires, on purpose

A Patreon pledge is not a payment we control. It can lapse, a card can decline a week later, and

Patreon does not tell us — the only signal is what the membership looks like the next time we ask.

So the grant is stamped with when it was last confirmed, and stops applying after two days

without a re-confirmation. Signing in with Patreon re-confirms it.

Two days rather than a month because Patreon bills on the 1st, and a card declining on the 2nd should

not buy another four weeks of a paid plan. Two days also survives a weekend of API trouble without

stranding anybody.

A declined last charge is not an active patron, even while Patreon still lists the membership.

### It never demotes you

If you also pay for a plan here, whichever is higher applies. A Patreon grant can only ever raise

your tier.
